Funding and Bursaries
In the academic year 2025-26, the fees for Exceed SCITT Initial Teacher Training courses leading to QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) are £9535. This also includes the cost of the PGCE and 60 masters level credits.
Bursaries are available to trainee teachers on tuition-fee courses leading to QTS. Eligibility depends on the subject and current qualifications. Trainees are only eligible for a bursary if they are entitled to support under the student finance criteria.
Bursaries 25-26
The following bursaries are available in 2025/26:
- £29,000 in chemistry, computing, mathematics and physics
- £26,000 in biology, design and technology, geography and languages (including ancient languages)
- £10,000 in art and design, music and religious education (RE)
- £5,000 in English
Applicants may be eligible for a bursary if they have a 1st, 2:1, 2:2, PhD or master’s.
The following scholarships are also available in 25/26:
- £31,000 in chemistry, computing, mathematics and physics
- £28,000 in French, German and Spanish (no other languages)
